Jackson is already 5 months old! I can't believe that he'll be 6 months old 4/8 - the day after my birthday. He's growing up so fast. He's such a happy baby, Charles and I are so lucky. He is never fussy and he's always smiling. He's been sleeping longer and longer at night and he sleeps so well! If he does wake up to eat, he gets himself right back to sleep within minutes! He loves to sit up all the time in his exersaucer, jumper, or in his bumbo seat. He really loves his tummy time and has started to sort of scoot across the room. He's not quite crawling yet but he sure is moving! He likes to play with his toys on the floor and he likes to sit in his highchair or bumbo to play with his toys on his tray. He is very coordinated! He can transfer objects between his hands and everything, I mean everything, goes right into his mouth. He's grabbing anything that I'm holding, whether it be a cell phone or a hair brush. He laughs at everything and is SUPER ticklish under his arms, his neck, his sides, and his feet! He also loves to eat his feet which has made diaper changes really easy! He holds his feet for me! We tried a little bit of rice cereal two weeks ago and he wasn't quite ready so we're holding off until he's 6 months old or starts showing signs of being ready for solid food. He is starting to watch us eat more and more so it won't be long! We're planning on making our own baby food which will be fun! Jackson also loves to stand on your lap and he'll put one foot in front of the other if you hold his hands and walk him along the floor. He's an eager little boy for sure! He seems to develop a new sound everyday and he's paying really close attention to the way our mouths move when we talk - we're working on "mama," as I'm sure that will be his first word! He also loves to pet Wonka, Malcolm, and Emily. Sophie really doesn't want to have anything to do with him. All of the animals are doing really great with him and they really feel the need to protect him, which is great. Wonka even lets him grab his face with his strong little baby grip! Jackson's been drooling non-stop for like 2 months now, and has started chewing his toys more and more lately (not just chewing, but CHOMPING!), so I'm thinking teeth are coming in the near future. We'll see!
