Charles' mom offered to watch Jackson for us tonight so that Charles and I could go out to dinner and to a movie for my birthday. At first, I was hesitant, I didn't want to leave Jackson, but it was so nice! We were going to go out to a restaurant, but Charles and I weren't super hungry so we ate at In-N-Out instead then went to Target and picked up little board shorts for Jackson with a little surfer shirt (rashguard). They are so cute and I can't wait to go to California this summer to go swimming! Then Charles and I went to the movies and saw I Love You, Man. It was such a funny movie. Jackson had a lot of fun with his Grandma while we were gone, but oh my goodness, when I got home he jumped up and down and reached for me and dive bombed my face for kisses like TEN TIMES! He's such a funny boy, I love him so much. I'm so grateful to have such a great mother-in-law!
Also, today Jackson had his 6 month check-up and the doctor said all looked great! He weighed 17 pounds 8.6 ounces, in the 50th percentile, and was 25 3/4 inches long, in the 25th percentile. He got his shots today and he cried for maybe a minute and a half then while I was comforting him and the nurse was marking his shot record he REACHED for her! She had been smiling and talking so sweet to him during his shots, and he's so trusting! She held him for awhile and he was smiling and laughing at her and she was just so impressed, she said that no other baby had ever done that after she gave them their shots. She was so happy, and said Jackson made her day! He even kissed her and grabbed her face over and over so he could look at her. So funny! She told me that I needed to write it in his baby book because it is so rare to find a baby that trusting and sweet.
Here's the video I promised of Jackson trying prunes. Sort of boring actually, he wasn't so into it. Maybe tomorrow we'll try some more.
Now I'm going to bed, I'm so tired, and have to be up by 4:45am tomorrow for work!
How cute! Those slobbery, face-holding, dive kisses are the best.
