My poor teething boy

My poor baby is teething.  He already has the one tooth on the bottom right, and now the bottom left must be coming through.  His mouth is hot and his cheeks are so red and just got that way today after his afternoon nap.  I checked for a temperature and he doesn't have one.  He's so uncomfortable.  The baby Orajel sort of takes the edge off, and Tylenol soothes him enough so that he's able to calm down to sleep, but it's so difficult to see him like this.  Tonight from about 4:30 - 7:30 he was so unhappy.  I tried rocking, playing, singing, feeding, giving him a cold teether from the fridge, everything.  Finally I decided to try to get in the bath with him to play for awhile and that worked to keep him content and otherwise occupied for 30 minutes or so.  Charles went to Walgreens while we were playing to get him a mesh baby food teether.  It looks like this:

You can put fresh or frozen veggies, fruits, or anything in it.  We are freezing some pear juice and some fresh apple slices for tomorrow but we put some crushed ice in it tonight and that REALLY helped.  He loved it.  He could sort of gnaw on it but suck the water out as well and it was so nice and cool on his sore gums.  I'm excited to see what he thinks of the fresh/frozen apple slice tomorrow!  Hopefully this darned tooth will just cut through so we can be happy for the next few days.  My mom thinks it should be out by tomorrow so here's hoping!

Here a few pictures I took yesterday, they're not the best, but I thought they were cute.

Wonka, Jackson, Emily, and Malcolm.  Only Sophie is missing!

Jackson and Wonka.  Wonka is such a good boy with Jackson, he lets him climb all over him, pull his hair/skin and eyes and slobber all over.  He even lets Jackson put his hand in his mouth and just sits there!  He's such a great family dog!

Jackson and Daddy watching something on TV, probably House.

  2. I wish they had cool teething things like this when you guys were little. Teething tablets also work, but it sounds like you guys have it covered. good job. I know it's frustrating but hang in there. Love you guys
